Knowing what to wear and what not to wear when traveling is crucial.
I’m pretty sure most of us faced this problem at least once in our travel lives: You’re standing in front of your closet, but looking for something to wear for your upcoming journey, nothing really feels right. This decision is never easy. First of all: Remember, it’s not a catwalk. That doesn’t mean you should fly in your oldest rags to have a good flight. Some clothes, even the ones you might love the most, should never leave the house in the first place. You don’t want to wear your fanciest dress, but you also don’t want to wear the same old sweatpants you usually wear when watching a movie on the couch at home. At least that’s how I feel. I’m not always super dressed up, but I’m 30 and don’t want to look like a 16 year old teenager anymore when traveling. Well, in no situation ever. When you want to feel and look great you have to put on the right outfit, because your vacation should start when you’re walking out the door, bag in-hand.
On the other hand, traveling to a vacation destination can be tough and exhausting. Not only does it sometimes take hours until you arrive in your hotel room or nice little beach bungalow, but you’ll most likely brave a multitude of temperature changes throughout your journey. Trying to survive a long-distance flight with no room for your legs or running from one gate to the next, because your connection flight was late, are just two small examples of what to expect.
Of course we all want to start our vacation relaxed and well rested, while looking fabulous and feeling even better. With the right clothes and some simple tricks, traveling can be a very enjoyable experience. The following “Wear this – Not that” Travel Fashion Tips offer you a quick overview of the most important dos and don’ts.
